Intellectual Property Management, Commercialization Models, and Entrepreneurial Considerations
The creation and adoption of new technologies continues to fuel the ever-expanding shift to knowledge-based economies. Maintaining competitive and proprietary advantage for new innovations is often secured through a variety of forms of intellectual property rights (IPR), including patents, copyright, know-how, and trademarks. This workshop will introduce the core concepts of intellectual property protection as well as outline commercial opportunity assessment factors and commercialization models (licensing and startups) based on securing intellectual property rights. An interactive case study will be included in the workshop to provide participants with a hands-on opportunity to assess and discuss IPR issues and to develop a commercialization plan.
