Jim Robertson is Vice President, Environment and Sustainability, with Detour Gold Corporation. Mr. Robertson is an environmental engineer with 34 years of experience in the mining industry. Prior to joining Detour Gold in April 2010, he was Director of Approvals and Sustainability for Barrick Gold Corporation. Prior to the 2006 merger of Barrick Gold and Placer Dome Inc., Mr. Robertson spent over 17 years at Placer. In his last eight years with Placer, he was Director of Environmental Services where he managed the corporate environmental affairs on international projects in Africa and Central/South America. He also worked for Teck Corporation for 13 years as an environmental coordinator for a number of their Canadian mine developments and expansions. Mr. Robertson received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering in 1973 and his Master of Science in Engineering in 1976, both from the University of British Columbia. He is registered with the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario and British Columbia.
